Energy Supply-Side & Demand-Side Optimization
Highlights
- Designed, planned and led a US industry project team for operating innovations in integrated enterprise energy, operating asset and sustainability management that received a State of California award for energy education and leadership from Governor Schwarzenegger. Selected by the Governor’s office and California Energy Commission to participate on the Governor’s Green Action Team to transfer Fortune 500-applicable Best Practice operating processes and technologies to State of California government agencies.
- In conjunction with Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and the California Energy Commission, was selected to lead multiple statewide operations-based demand response energy projects applicable to California industry and state electric utility infrastructure capacity for the California Independent System Operator (CAISO), Pacific Gas & Electric Company (PG&E), Southern California Edison (SCE) and other California investor-owned utilities, municipal utilities and irrigation districts.
- Led California Energy Commission collaborative electricity supply chain power quality advancement project with California's food industry and electric utilities. The project aligned and improved electric utility power quality specifications and investments to align with new and emerging microprocessor-based manufacturing technology investments in operations (e.g. robotics, variable frequency drives, etc.). The project provided a foundation for electric utilities to revise and align utility power quality specifications and infrastructure investments with industry investments. The project received a Pacific Gas & Electric Company (PG&E) Customer of the Year award for collaborative industy-utility partnership and teamwork.
- US and international experience in energy project management, enterprise energy, asset and sustainability management technologies for large-scale resorts and gaming industry facility locations.
- Due to a successful project management leadership track record in managing complex, high profile industry-government projects, was selected as project manager by the US Air Force-Air Combat Command and the California Energy Commission to lead and manage 10 operations, engineering, cybersecurity and technology teams. The project objective was to deliver a national security strategic roadmap in alignment with a Secretary of the Air Force strategy directive for US Air Force operations’ energy resource supply chain infrastructure, resiliency and sustainability management to support Air Combat Command national security objectives in US Air Force Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) and anti-terrorism. The project has evolved to a global resiliency standard for the US Air Force.
- Received a US Department of Commerce-National Oceanic & Atmospheric Admininstration (NOAA) Sea Grant in energy education, energy management, sustainability management and applicable technology enablements. In coordination with the University of Alaska and the US Environmental Protection Agency Region 10 office in Anchorage, Alaska, the NOAA Sea Grant provided energy and sustainability 'roadmap' guidance to seafood operations in Alaska, Aleutian Islands and Bering Sea area.
